The Golf Courses

Kingsdown Golf Club was founded in 1880

It is the oldest golf club in Wiltshire and the second oldest in the West Country, outliving all but twelve English clubs. It has an established reputation as a friendly club and the course is a test for even the most skilful of golfers. Parts of the course boast spectacular views from Kingsdown’s heathland hilltop across the valley of Box and Colerne and into Bath, adding to the pleasure of playing golf on one of Wiltshire’s finest and most challenging courses.

The Downland course is renowned for its beautiful scenery, luscious fairways and, of course, its superb greens. The excellent drainage makes play possible all year round. The Men’s White Tees, the course, a Par 72, measures 6,501 yards in length. For the Ladies, the Red Tees boast 5,744 yards and a Par 73. Whilst seemingly open and forgiving, the course will punish errant play; play intelligent and thoughtful golf and you will be rewarded.
