All the Minchinhampton courses lie on Cotswold Brash (Limestone) and as such are very free draining, offering a good test all year round. The Cherington course has hosted Open Championship Regional Qualifying and both the Avening and Cherington courses have hosted National Championships and regularly host matches and championships for the GGU and the GLCGA.
